Vietnam Tourist Visa

A Vietnam Tourist Visa allows foreign visitors to enter Vietnam for leisure, sightseeing, or visiting family and friends. It’s ideal for short stays and non-business purposes.

Process

  • First, determine whether you need a single-entry visa valid for 30 days or a multiple-entry visa valid for up to 90 days.
  • Next, choose your application method: you can apply for a Visa on Arrival (for air travelers only), an e-visa (available to citizens of over 80 countries), or directly through a Vietnamese embassy or consulate.
  • Then, prepare and submit the required documents, which typically include a passport valid for at least 6 months, a passport-size photograph, a completed visa application form, and a visa approval letter if you’re applying for Visa on Arrival.
  • After that, pay the applicable fees — these may include an online service fee for the visa approval letter and a stamping fee at the airport (for VOA applicants).
  • Finally, receive your visa: if applying for an e-visa, you will get it via email in 3–5 working days, while for VOA, your visa will be stamped at the airport upon arrival.

Vietnam Student Visa (DH Visa)

The Student Visa (DH visa) allows international students to live and study in Vietnam after being accepted into a recognized Vietnamese educational institution.

Process

  • Begin by securing admission to a recognized university or school in Vietnam and obtaining an official offer or acceptance letter.
  • Most international students first enter Vietnam on a tourist visa and then convert it to a student visa after enrollment.
  • Once admitted, submit your student visa application with all required documents, including your passport, a valid visa, your university admission letter, the NA5 visa application form, and proof of temporary residence registration from the local police.
  • Your educational institution will typically assist you in submitting the visa application to the local immigration office.
  • After processing, you will be granted a DH Visa, which is usually valid for 6 to 12 months and can be renewed; it also permits multiple entries and extended study periods.
